Testing

We take quality and transparency seriously. That’s why we get our gummies third-party tested by Eurofins to verify creatine content using a modified version of the USP Creatine Monograph, specifically designed for pectin-based gummies. Additionally, we ensure our products are HASTA-certified for banned substance testing, making them safe for athletes.

Testing Methodology

The Gold Standard in Creatine Testing for Pectin Based Gummies

We use a modified USP Creatine Monograph test. This test is considered the “Gold Standard” for testing pectin-based gummies. There are two, more common, off-the-shelf creatine tests that are widely used methods for testing creatine, but neither is suitable for pectin-based gummies:

  1. Analytical Biochemistry (1993) HPLC Method – Originally developed for measuring creatine in biological tissues (e.g., muscle samples), this method does not account for the unique structure of pectin-based gummies, leading to incomplete extraction and inaccurate results.

  2. USP Creatine Monograph (HPLC-Based) – Considered the gold standard for creatine powders and capsules, but it has limitations when applied to gummies, including:
  • Incomplete extraction – Pectin's gel-like nature can trap creatine, skewing results.
  • Filtration issues – High viscosity can interfere with the separation process, affecting HPLC accuracy.
  • Organic acid interference – Ingredients like citric acid can co-elute with creatine, making detection unreliable.

How We Ensure Accurate Testing

Because of these challenges, neither of these standard tests will provide reliable results for pectin-based gummies. That’s why we work with Eurofins, a leading third-party lab, which has developed a modified version of the USP Creatine Monograph specifically for pectin based gummies. This adaptation ensures:

Full creatine extraction from the gummy matrix
Proper filtration to prevent interference
Accurate quantification despite pectin-based challenges

It’s important to note that most labs, including Eurofins, do not automatically use this modified method unless specifically requested. This is why some third-party tests may incorrectly report lower creatine levels.

Banned Substances Testing

HASTA provides comprehensive testing services to ensure that sports supplements are free from substances prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). Their testing methodology is accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) to ISO 17025, the international standard for laboratory competence.

The testing criteria are reviewed annually with the release of the updated WADA Prohibited List and are adjusted based on emerging drug use patterns and the detection of novel substances.
